Equine Exercise Physiology - Training Level I

How the horse's body adapts to exercise has been the subject of much research over recent years. This module combines up-to-date research with the fundamentals of training horses from a horseowners viewpoint. If you know how your horse's body responds to the training you are doing, you are able to maximise the effect of your training and give your horse the best in terms of competitive advantage and health.

Equine Exercise Physiology - Training Level II

Extending from EEP Level II, this module develops your understanding to a deeper level and provides additional information on how the horse's body responds to injury and rehabilitation. This module provides the information necessary to degree level, and is suitable for any serious competitor as well as those with a specific interest in exercise physiology.

Behaviour Level I

This module includes information on how horses relate to each other in their natural environment, their responses to potential predators and the importance of the senses in their survival. For owners of horses with strong behavioural tendencies, this module may provide some of the answers to why their horse behaves as he or she does. This module is also suitable for those with a particular interest in behavioural issues.

Behaviour Level II

Building on the information given in Behaviour Level I, this module looks at how horses view training and their interaction with humans. This module is recommended for those wanting more information on behavioural issues with their horses relating to training, as well as those involved in instruction and training on a more professional basis.

Health Level I

This module offers a sound basis of information on the general health checks and care of the horse, from the basics of worming, jabs and daily routine, to the action necessary in cases of colic, laminitis and lameness etc. Written for the horseowner this module is also recommended for those studying for BHS exams up to BHSAI level.

Health Level II

This module looks at common health problems, relating to lameness, poor performance, metabolics and injury. This module develops your understanding from Health Level I and gives you access to some of the most recent research in this field. Suitable for horseowners, professional instructors and competition riders.

Each Level I module is tailored for the horseowner as easy to understand and provides work tasks for you to do and set questions to be answered and returned to recieve a course completion certificate.

Each Level II module is designed to give information to degree level and provide a sound basis of deeper knowledge and understanding to you as the student. Work tasks, set questions and an essay question must be completed for a successful course completion certification.

You are able to select which modules you wish to study as each module does "stand alone" and study of Level I is not necessary for study of Level II. Upon completion of your chosen modules you will receive a Daisha Equine Care Certificate in the modules you have studied.

Modules cost £20 each as an introductory price (this may be subject to change in the future) and you can choose one module or all eight!
